The motion, which was already introduced last December by the FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe group, was aimed at creating a green oasis in the city center on the market square. In the December meeting of the municipal council, a majority was in sight, but Mayor Frank Mentrup had the application postponed to the planning committee, where the agenda item ended up three months later. Despite support from some political groups, the motion could not be pushed through on the last one. In addition to the rejection of a general greening by SPD and KAL\/Die Partei because of Weinbrenner's classicism, the Greens and CDU agreed with the FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe group to hold the vote after the summer break instead of in the upcoming April meeting of the municipal council, since by that time the construction and time windows on the eastern and western edges of the market square will be fixed.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The city councilors of the FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe group, Friedemann Kalmbach and J\u00fcrgen Wenzel, criticize the lengthy process and the lack of will. \"It is regrettable that the idea of the application is not approached with vigor and new reasons are always sought as to why a decision on this is not possible,\" said Friedemann Kalmbach. \"We have been advocating for trees in the marketplace from the beginning to green up the downtown area and thus increase the quality of life for citizens. It's a shame that our idea hasn't met with widespread support.\"<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>J\u00fcrgen Wenzel emphasizes the importance of trees in the city. \"Trees are essential in times of climate change, providing shade and cooling. Especially in the marketplace, where many people spend time in the summer, trees would be a great asset to the city. We can't afford to ignore the importance of trees to the city's quality of life.\"<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe group also emphasizes that the reasons given by the administration and the factions for rejecting the application are not valid. \"Initially, it was said that monument protection speaks against trees in the marketplace. But after a thorough examination, it became clear that the monument protection could be implemented with appropriate conditions,\" says Friedemann Kalmbach. \"Then they said there was no grant money available for the project. However, this line of reasoning has also proven to be wrong. Now it is allegedly the construction sites at the market place that stand in the way of implementing the application. We think this is pretextual, because it's perfectly possible to decide on the trees in the marketplace now and then go into commissioning and planning accordingly.\"<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe group will continue to advocate for a greening of the market place and hopes for a positive decision in the coming September.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_section_1 et_pb_section et_section_regular et_block_section\"><div class=\"et_pb_row_1 et_pb_row et-vb-row--no-module et_block_row\"><\/div><\/div><div class=\"et_pb_section_2 et_pb_section et_section_regular et_block_section\"><div class=\"et_pb_row_2 et_pb_row et_block_row\"><div class=\"et_pb_column_1 et_pb_column et_pb_column_4_4 et-last-child et_block_column et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode_passthrough\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_page_schema_0 dipl_faq_page_schema et_pb_module\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_title\"><h2>FAQ<\/h2><\/div>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_faq_wrapper dipl_faq_accordion dipl_faq_col_1\"  itemscope itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/FAQPage\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_faq_page_schema_item_0 dipl_faq_page_schema_item et_pb_module\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_item_wrapper\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><div class=\"dipl_question_wrapper\"><h4 itemprop=\"name\">Was war der urspr\u00fcngliche Antrag der FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe Fraktion?<\/h4><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_answer_wrapper\" itemScope itemProp=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemType=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div itemprop=\"text\"><p>Die Fraktion hatte im Dezember 2022 einen Antrag eingereicht, der zum Ziel hatte, auf dem Marktplatz Hochbeete mit B\u00e4umen zu schaffen, um die Innenstadt zu begr\u00fcnen und die Lebensqualit\u00e4t der B\u00fcrgerinnen und B\u00fcrger zu erh\u00f6hen. Der Antrag setzte auf einen Antrag zur Marktplatz-Begr\u00fcnung der Fraktion aus dem Jahr 2019 auf, sowie den Antworten auf einen Offenen Brief in den Folgejahren.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"dipl_faq_page_schema_item_1 dipl_faq_page_schema_item et_pb_module\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_item_wrapper\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><div class=\"dipl_question_wrapper\"><h4 itemprop=\"name\">Warum konnte der Antrag nicht in der April-Sitzung des Gemeinderates durchgesetzt werden?<\/h4><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_answer_wrapper\" itemScope itemProp=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemType=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div itemprop=\"text\"><p>Obwohl es Unterst\u00fctzung durch einige Fraktionen gab, konnte der Antrag nicht durchgesetzt werden, da SPD und KAL\/Die Partei die generelle Begr\u00fcnung aufgrund des Klassizismus Weinbrenners ablehnten und die Gr\u00fcnen und die CDU die Abstimmung auf die Sommerpause verschoben, um die Bau- und Zeitfenster am \u00f6stlichen und westlichen Rand des Markplatzes abzuwarten.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"dipl_faq_page_schema_item_2 dipl_faq_page_schema_item et_pb_module\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_item_wrapper\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><div class=\"dipl_question_wrapper\"><h4 itemprop=\"name\">Warum sind B\u00e4ume in der Innenstadt wichtig?<\/h4><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_answer_wrapper\" itemScope itemProp=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemType=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div itemprop=\"text\"><p>B\u00e4ume in der Innenstadt sind wichtig, da sie Schatten und Abk\u00fchlung bieten und dazu beitragen, die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels zu mildern. Sie tragen auch zur Luftreinigung und Verbesserung der Lebensqualit\u00e4t bei.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"dipl_faq_page_schema_item_3 dipl_faq_page_schema_item et_pb_module\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_item_wrapper\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><div class=\"dipl_question_wrapper\"><h4 itemprop=\"name\">Warum gab es Bedenken hinsichtlich des Denkmalschutzes?<\/h4><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_answer_wrapper\" itemScope itemProp=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemType=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div itemprop=\"text\"><p>Es gab Bedenken hinsichtlich des Denkmalschutzes, da der Karlsruher Marktplatz ein historischer Ort ist und daher bestimmte Auflagen und Vorschriften beachtet werden m\u00fcssen. Allerdings wurde festgestellt, dass der Denkmalschutz mit entsprechenden Auflagen umgesetzt werden kann.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"dipl_faq_page_schema_item_4 dipl_faq_page_schema_item et_pb_module\"><div class=\"dipl_faq_item_wrapper\" itemscope itemprop=\"mainEntity\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Question\"><div class=\"dipl_question_wrapper\"><h4 itemprop=\"name\">Wird es in Zukunft B\u00e4ume auf dem Karlsruher Marktplatz geben?<\/h4><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"dipl_answer_wrapper\" itemScope itemProp=\"acceptedAnswer\" itemType=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/Answer\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div itemprop=\"text\"><p>Die FW|F\u00dcR Karlsruhe Fraktion wird sich weiterhin f\u00fcr eine Begr\u00fcnung des Marktplatzes einsetzen und hofft auf eine positive Entscheidung im kommenden September.
