In a supplementary motion to the energy master plan, the city council groups calls for a clear roadmap to make the implementation of measures to achieve climate neutrality more effective.<\/p>\n\n<p>The supplementary application includes, among other things, the demand for a timeframe for the implementation of the district heating network and the examination, planning and implementation of geothermal energy. In addition, specific starter measures with key dates are to be defined, as well as hydrogen network expansion areas and their notification. Another focus of the application is on addressing and replacing oil and gas heating systems in Karlsruhe:<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;The progress of our efforts and plans for the energy master plan must be made transparent for everyone. This is best achieved with a concrete, annual progress report that provides detailed and clear information about the process. In this way, the implementation of the energy master plan can be closely monitored and there are no nasty surprises that might present us with a fait accompli. That is why the interval for updating and reviewing the energy master plan should be set at a maximum of five years,&#8221; says City Councillor Friedemann Kalmbach on monitoring the implementation of the energy master plan.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, the availability of federal subsidies mentioned in the energy plan should be specifically checked. Performance audits and a specific review of the funding are to be carried out for starter measures.<\/p>\n\n<p>The city council group of the Free Voters and the voters&#8217; group F\u00dcR Karlsruhe emphasizes the need for this supplementary application, as the existing energy master plan is not sufficiently concrete with regard to the timeline and the achievement of climate neutrality. A clear roadmap with fixed dates and timeframes is crucial in order to make the implementation of measures more effective. The group is also calling for a review of the interval at which the energy master plan is updated in order to allow for short-term adjustments based on new data and changes in federal requirements.
