{"id":8696,"date":"2024-02-05T11:32:57","date_gmt":"2024-02-05T10:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwfuer.de\/karlsruhe-needs-clear-signage-at-the-main-station-8696\/"},"modified":"2026-01-27T16:06:29","modified_gmt":"2026-01-27T15:06:29","slug":"karlsruhe-needs-clear-signage-at-the-main-station","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fwfuer.de\/en\/karlsruhe-needs-clear-signage-at-the-main-station-8696\/","title":{"rendered":"Karlsruhe needs clear signage at the main station"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><em>The city council group of Freie W\u00e4hler and F\u00dcR Karlsruhe is submitting a motion aimed at improving mobility for people with restricted mobility and travelers who are not familiar with the area at Karlsruhe Central Station.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>In close coordination with the Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV) and Deutsche Bahn, the city administration should take the initiative to ensure clearer signage to the nearest barrier-free stop at the main station.<br\/>&#8220;Changing trains at Karlsruhe Central Station is a major challenge for people with reduced mobility.\nThe current lack of barrier-free access to public transport makes getting around considerably more difficult.\nIn addition, travelers who are not familiar with the area lack clear information about where the nearest barrier-free stop or boarding point is located,&#8221; says City Councillor Petra Lorenz.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Application for improved signage<\/strong><br\/>The city council group has therefore submitted an application to install informative signs in the area of the stops in front of the main station.\nThese should not only provide better orientation for people with reduced mobility, but also make it easier for all passengers to find the nearest accessible stop. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Cooperation with KVV and Deutsche Bahn<\/strong><br\/>Cooperation with the Karlsruhe Transport Association and Deutsche Bahn is a key component of this application.\nThrough a joint effort, the signage is to be designed in such a way that it best meets the needs of passengers and ensures smooth transportation at Karlsruhe Central Station. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The city council group of Freie W\u00e4hler and F\u00dcR Karlsruhe is submitting a motion aimed at improving mobility for people with restricted mobility and travelers who are not familiar with the area at Karlsruhe Central Station.
