voters&#8217; group submit supplementary motion on the social plaza concept<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The city council group &#8220;Freie W\u00e4hler&#8221; and the voter group &#8220;F\u00dcR Karlsruhe&#8221; have submitted a supplementary motion to Karlsruhe City Council for a social square concept.\nThe situation in public squares such as Werderplatz in S\u00fcdstadt has come to a head.\nSo much so that the citizens&#8217; association turned to the Karlsruhe municipal council to draw attention to the worsening situation.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The aim of the proposal is to reduce the burden on busy places in Karlsruhe by distributing social support services such as substitution clinics and food banks across different areas of the city.\nThis is intended to weaken the pull effect: Over-concentration of help services in S\u00fcdstadt has previously attracted withdrawal patients and homeless people from other parts of the city and the surrounding area.\nConflicts intensified, the police and KOD had to respond several times and residents felt increasingly uncomfortable.  <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;A better and fairer distribution of social services across the entire city area is absolutely necessary in order to reduce the potential for conflict and improve the quality of life for residents.\nWe see the new concept as an opportunity to strengthen the sense of security and the quality of life for citizens,&#8221; emphasized parliamentary group leader Friedemann Kalmbach (F\u00dcR Karlsruhe). <\/p>\n\n<p>The signatories of the motion, City Councillor Friedemann Kalmbach (F\u00dcR Karlsruhe), City Councillor J\u00fcrgen Wenzel (Freie W\u00e4hler) and City Councillor Petra Lorenz (Freie W\u00e4hler) as well as group executive Micha Schlittenhardt, are convinced that a balanced distribution of social services will help to strengthen the city&#8217;s districts and promote positive coexistence.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-divi-layout\">[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
