{"id":2657,"date":"2022-05-25T16:22:02","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T14:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fwfuer.de\/project\/improve-stops-of-the-combined-solution\/"},"modified":"2022-06-01T23:11:03","modified_gmt":"2022-06-01T21:11:03","slug":"improve-stops-of-the-combined-solution","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/fwfuer.de\/en\/project\/improve-stops-of-the-combined-solution\/","title":{"rendered":"Improve public transport services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Better gathering of information and orientation<\/em><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The use of loudspeaker announcements for trains arriving at the stops of the combined solution is being examined.<\/li><li>The display of the departure monitors is increased in contrast for people with visual impairments.<\/li><li>A lower suspension of the downhill monitors for better visibility is being examined.<\/li><li>Appropriately sized signs for finding elevators will be posted.<\/li><li>Distribution levels are equipped with clear signs for the directions of travel (e.g. on the market square with signs &#8220;Direction Durlach&#8221; or &#8220;Direction Central Station&#8221;)<\/li><\/ul>\n<p><em>Better comfort<\/em><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The reduction of squeaking noises in the triangle of the Marktplatz (main square) through appropriate sound-absorbing measures is being examined.<\/li><li>The stops will be equipped with additional suitable seating.<\/li><\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reason<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>According to the Disability Equality Act, people with visual, hearing and mobility impairments must be able to find out about themselves and move around independently. According to DIN 18040-3 No. 5.6.3 and BOStrab \u00a731, public transport vehicles with wheelchairs, walkers (also applies to prams) but also for people with sensory disabilities must be accessible, walkable and safe to find. In this sense, the criticism of the beautifully designed new stops of the combined solution must be addressed. Especially with a view to better orientation, there is an important need for action here, as the letter from the KAL \/ The Party on the subject recently made clear. In this sense, we welcome the positive signals from the KVV to remedy the situation quickly.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, we suggest checking loudspeaker announcements and improving the departure monitors, which are difficult to contrast. This could also include the implementation or testing of the use of e-ink displays in trains and stops in the KVV area, which also provide sharp departure information in stops with sunlight. This is already being used at Berlin bus stops.<\/p>\n\n<p>When it comes to comfort, especially for people with walking disabilities or situations that make it difficult to stand for a long time, there is a need for significantly more seating in the combined bus stops. With a view to the Marktplatz stop, there must be a remedy for the loud noises in the crossing area.
