Nobody really knows what the new year will bring. Nobody knows where we’ll end up. This may frighten some, inspire others. We from the FW|FOR parliamentary group are making a future-oriented proposal as to how the priorities should be set in the new year.

1. TOGETHER: We are currently living in a time when society and the municipal council are drifting apart and positions are clashing hard. Tolerance and understanding for other points of view decrease. A new togetherness is required if we want a common future.

2. GIVING UP: We will all have to give up one thing or another: personally and as a society. The “free city”, such as daycare centers, trams and buses, swimming pools will not be feasible. Doing without means less quality of life: Less is often more.

3. INNOVATIVE CITY: Karlsruhe, as an innovative city with a future-oriented economy, needs to be further developed in order to create secure jobs. Our city as a living laboratory for the future.

4. CLIMATE PROTECTION remains the top issue that we must pursue! In difficult times, the course is set for a good future. This requires a willingness for cohesion and work in society and the municipal council. If we can do that, I’m confident that Karlsruhe will have a good future.
