The year is three months old and a lot has already happened: In Durlach, the citizens’ initiative “Durlach against Prostitution” has been founded to demonstrate against the plans of a real estate agent who wants to open a brothel in Ottostraße. Local councillor Jürgen Wenzel presents himself to the side of the citizens’ initiative and demands creative solutions to prevent the brothel plans. However, when it came to planning the city center, the city’s politicians decided to go against the mood of the population: since January, the plane trees in Kaiserstraße have been felled. The city council group Free Voters and and FOR Karlsruhe explains how it could have been done differently without cutting down the trees. Read this and more in the new Municipal Council Info.
