The parents’ council of the Espira day-care center in Karlsruhe Knielingen describes the unacceptable conditions of care in the private day-care center, which belongs to the listed AcadeMedia. Since the founding in September 2018, the motto “For a fantastic start in life” has not been implemented. Particularly negligent is the frequent change of personnel, which makes a trusting relationship between child and educator very difficult.

The parliamentary group Freie Wahler and FÜR Karlsruhe demands solutions for the children and parents. “The well-being of the children must not be endangered! Parents, children and employees of the day care center must not be left alone,” warns the parliamentary group leader Jürgen Wenzel.

The children and the remaining employees suffer from the chronic understaffing of the staff and there is no improvement in sight. Small children cannot be adequately cared for, preschool children cannot be prepared for school. Care, security and support are not guaranteed in the current situation. The employees are under enormous pressure to compensate for the lack of staff and the tense situation. The sponsor of the AcadeMedia day care center has not yet provided any answers to the grievances, and it also lacks the transparency to make real improvement possible.

In a letter to the town hall, the parliamentary group calls for a quick review and immediate clarification of the circumstances.
