The city council group of Freie Wähler and FÜR Karlsruhe is focusing on hydrogen as a future driver for industry and commerce. The application to the city administration stipulates that the city, in cooperation with Stadtwerke Karlsruhe, should examine possible locations for a commercial or industrial area with a hydrogen connection and present the results to the municipal council. The aim is to develop a commercial or industrial area with a hydrogen connection and connect it to the planned hydrogen network of Baden-Württemberg.
The growing importance of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source for industry and commerce is undeniable. The cooperation between the city administration and Stadtwerke Karlsruhe is intended to create the basis for an innovative hydrogen infrastructure.
“A hydrogen infrastructure not only offers ecological advantages, but can also further strengthen Karlsruhe as a location for innovation. The proximity to the Rhine port opens up attractive opportunities for the transportation and distribution of hydrogen. This infrastructure will enable companies to reduce their CO2 emissions and at the same time benefit from the growing opportunities in the field of hydrogen technology,” says parliamentary group leader Friedemann Kalmbach (FÜR Karlsruhe)
