The Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe VBK are commissioned to set up a bus route through Stuttgarter Straße in test operation for one year. The usage data will then be evaluated and continued operation will be presented to the local council for a vote.
Reason
Südstadt-Ost is very poorly connected to the city center by public transport. This is a serious shortcoming that is causing resentment, especially in Südstadt-Ost and in civil society. In the future, Stuttgarter Straße is to be equipped with a railroad line, but until then some time will have to pass. Since the costs for a regular service would only be incurred then, but the population already needs a reasonable connection now, our municipal council group proposes to test this connection in trial operation. A bus route could not only remedy the situation, but already offer initial insights into utilization.
