We are very critical of the decision of the board of directors to keep the general director Peter Spuhler in office and not to give him a leave of absence. We continue to stand for an exemption in order to clarify the incidents comprehensively, to restructure the management of the State Theater and to enable a new management culture. Our parliamentary group of Free Voters and FOR Karlsruhe therefore affirms that Peter Spuhler must be released until further notice because of the seriousness of the allegations and that a provisional management should be appointed by the carriers who know how to clearly address and mediate the problems. This leave of absence gives Mr. Spuhler the opportunity to reflect on the events and to get the necessary distance. In addition, the workforce has the opportunity to go into this process on an equal footing, while the provisional management mediates objectively between the general manager on leave and the workforce. The allegations that have been smoldering for years must be dealt with. The State Theater must become fit for the future again. In the necessary process to get there, it must become clear whether there is a future with the current management. Only a trusting cooperation can unleash the creativity that is in the employees!

However, we welcome the introduction of measures by a person of trust and the regular employee survey on the working atmosphere that we demand.
